Out-Of-Class Assignment 3
Our next out-of-class Copywriting assignment was creating a radio spot, based on a copy platform we created using the following prompt:

Smith’s Furniture Store is celebrating its 75th Anniversary. It specializes in furniture for all rooms at discount prices.

An anniversary sale is being held next Wednesday through Sunday. Items on sale too numerous to mention on-air. A special sales flyer will appear in Tuesday’s newspaper, “The Downtown Herald.” They will be offering the best prices in their history. Special store hours will be 9AM-9PM Monday through Saturday and 9AM-5pm Sunday. Shoppers may also register for a free $500 shopping spree.

Out-Of-Class Assignment 2
Our second out-of-class in Copywriting was meant to teach us the different appeals. The prompts are as follows:

Your job, as chief commercial copywriter as Luzerne TV and WSFX is to produce the most appealing commercial that our client has ever heard/seen.

Your assignment is to select a product that you use on a regular basis.  It can be a personal care product like deodorant or toothpaste; a certain type of food that you enjoy, a particular brand of clothing that you wear; an automobiles that you drive.  You must use it / consume it regularly and have some knowledge about the product.

Out-Of-Class Assignment 1
For our first out-of-class assignment in Copywriting, we had a 2-part project. Our first project was to find an ad online, and write a transcript, breaking it down into its dialogue and video direction, with the intention of getting students to be more aware of the way audio and visuals are used to enhance a message. Once that was written out, we were to write a radio spot translation of that ad.

Fall 2014- Creative Art Direction- Project 2

Project 2- Word/Image Relationship
Our second project in my Creative Art Direction course was called the word/image relationship project. The goal was to take a single word and a single graphical element, and make them create a message.

Concept
My word was "revive," which turned out to be pretty fortunate for me. As I'd just finished reading Brave New World, and gotten through a chunk of 1984 again, I was in a very dystopian, cynical mindset. I came up with a few concepts immediately, which weren't bad, but would need a lot of work to make viable.

Project 1- Typographic Self-Portrait
This semester, I have 4 courses. Of them, Creative Art Direction was the first to have a project due. The project itself was to create a purely typographical self-portrait. No illustration, no graphics, no bending letterforms. It was a project meant, in part at least, to get us to think about our process, as well as to get us to think more about how type can be used.

Site Updates

I decided to completely rework my website over the summer. The primary updates include making my layout liquid instead of static and updating my syntax to be in HTML5. I also changed the look for this blog to better match my actual site. Unfortunately

Lotus Prince Fragile Dreams Playthrough cards

A Let's Player I watch, Lotus Prince, is playing a Wii game called Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. I made two title cards for the playthrough, based on two of the major characters in the game, Shin and Crow, respectively going from the left.

For the final in my illustration course during the Spring 2014 semester, our final project was creating an avatar of ourselves. I went with a fantasy aesthetic for the project. Made solely with Adobe Illustrator, and a lot of research on H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos stories, and the other stories connected to it.
