Reminiscing On My Previous Semester

I was going over some of my older works, and thought I should put what was hands-down the best things I did in the entirety of my previous semester here.

Animation:
If I can pick a definitive point where my art skills started what is, admittedly a tad egotistically, a very rapid increase, it was with this animation, where for the most part, I designed the characters, set the animation up, did the soundtrack, and managed to hook a va, all in the span of the seven days before the project was due in my animation course.

To defend myself a tad, the three months I had for the project was spent almost entirely trying to teach myself ZBrush, which I only gave up on when I realized how little time I had left. Even with the amount of time I spent on it, I think it came out pretty well, and I learned things about myself, such as that I work well under pressure and I have a very fast rate of work.

Photo Image Enhancement:
For our final class project, we had to come up with a movie poster. I decided to go the route of making up a fake Japanese horror film, deciding to give it a kind of cult-centric feeling. While I came up with several designs, I like this one the most, by far, especially because I got to make a kitsune, which is one of my favorite creatures from Asian mythology.

Graphic Design:
In my Graphic Design class, our first project was to design a brand, based on the idea that a color was our client. I got the color somebody else wanted on the color wheel, and so I bargained to trade it to the person if I could get black, because there were more people than basic colors. And so, when we had to come up with a poster for our clients, I decided to make a vampire, which I think came out phenomenally.

Publication Design:
For my publication design class, we had to design a flyer, with the purpose being to learn how to design for die-cuts or custom cuts. I decided to go with a cruise line, and while I fully admit that I took on the project in the mindset of an illustrator and not an advertisement designer, the resulting illustration that I made for it is, until my digital painting starting a month ago, the most detailed thing I'd ever designed.

Also, a note on the blog: I'll be putting up my photography, written works, audio work, and other art mediums up on here as well, eventually.
